Due to internal promotion we have a position available within our Health and Safety team.

Reporting to the Health and Safety Manager, you will be accountable for assisting with the management of all health and safety functions, including implementing the health and safety strategy and plan, and engaging with key stakeholders at all levels of the organisation – both internal and external.
This role will provide support to ensure that appropriate policies, procedures, systems and services are in place enabling the highest possible level of safety awareness, incident prevention and emergency preparedness throughout the organisation.
Other responsibilities include developing internal training material, collaborating with operational teams, chairing safety committees, auditing, facilitating incident investigations, and managing the return to work process. You will be working with Vault safety management system and will need sound computer skills.
You will have had several years’ experience operating at a senior level with proven stakeholder engagement and policy and process development experience. You must have excellent writing skills, be good at relationship management and have an appreciation of culture change. The Pulpmill is designated a lower tier major hazard facility therefore experience at a Major Hazard Facility would be an advantage.

The Production Team at the Winstone Pulp Karioi Pulpmill is seeking qualified, experienced Shift Managers for a newly created role.

Key responsibilities include, but not limited to:
• Compliance to statutory requirements and relevant NZ Standards
• Review and improvement of production processes and procedures
• Manage performance, training and development of production team

The ideal applicants will have:
• Tertiary qualification in business and/or people management
• A trade / technical background would be advantageous
• Excellent communication with the ability to interact effectively at all levels
• Demonstrated experience in a people management role within a production environment
• Demonstrated ability to successfully manage change
• Thorough understanding of safety
• Availability to work on a rotating roster (including evenings and weekends)

This is a full time position and tasks will initially include:
• Management accounting and job cost reporting
• Information systems management and development
• Fixed asset and capital work in progress reporting

 Reliability Superintendent

This newly created Reliability Superintendent role is positioned within the maintenance group to develop advice and manage Asset Engineering to support the asset owners internally. This role is pivotal in driving a new focus within the maintenance team managing complex assets within the company. Internal key stakeholder engagement is critical to support and drive towards best practice within the Reliability group.
Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, your primary responsibilities include leadership of the following critical areas;
• Development of the Reliability framework to improve the overall reliability of assets and facilities, whilst focusing on priority issues;
• Improving asset reliability by optimizing preventative maintenance and implementing projects;
• Development of “Bad actor” lists for plant assets and working with maintenance and Operations, to deliver projects to eliminate these critical issues;
• Transfer of reliability techniques, principles and expertise to business operations;
• Leading cross functional teams through RCA investigations;
• Delivery of RCA Best Practice knowledge and standards;
• Focusing on continuous improvement and implementation of priority projects;
• Development and reporting Reliability/Availability KPI’s frameworks;
• Analysis of present CMMS system to drive it’s enhanced capability.

Ideally you have:
• A tertiary qualification within Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, Specialising in Reliability Engineering;
• Experience within Pulp and Paper or other similarly complex process industry;
• A proven record in the development and delivery of reliability centred maintenance and Whole of Life Asset planning are essential;
• Excellent communication skills are required for interacting at all levels in the organisation as you will be need to develop key relationships with Engineering, Maintenance and Operation stakeholders, across the organisation;
• Proficiency in Various software applications, including Microsoft Office, Project, CMMS;
• A commitment to Environment, Health and Safety best practice is essential.

 Maintenance Superintendent

This newly created Maintenance Superintendent role is positioned within the maintenance group to develop and lead the maintenance team of electrical and mechanical trades. We are looking for a highly organised “people” person with complex work planning experience. This role is pivotal in driving a new focus within the maintenance team managing complex assets within the company. Internal key stakeholder engagement is critical to support and drive towards best practice within the maintenance group.
Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, your primary responsibilities include leadership of the following critical areas;
• Ensure weekly planning is completed to maximise business efficiency;
• Ensure all preventive and corrective maintenance tasks are implemented and executed as per the CMMS maintenance strategy;
• Provide timely and effective communications of issues related to key accountabilities;
• Manage performance of the Maintenance Group to ensure activity plans and KPI’s are achieved;
• Complete performance reviews of direct reports including implementing an employee development plan;
• Provide leadership to contribute to a culture that empowers the trades teams and promotes the safety & wellbeing of all employees.

Ideally you have:
• A tertiary qualification within Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, Trade or Planning background;
• minimum 5 years' experience in a senior role, preferably in a manufacturing facility, with a key focus on continuous improvement, best practice and making a practical and strategic difference.

This role will lead a high performing Maintenance team supporting the production team. The role is designed for a driven maintenance professional with a strong focus on safety, continuous improvement and people leadership.
